It doesn’t need to be long or fancy - just honest and in your own words. A few sentences is perfect. Here are some Do's and Don'ts:

Do’s

Be genuine: Talk about what stood out for you. Maybe it was our quick response, clear explanations, or the way we made something technical feel simple.

Mention a moment: Was there a time something clicked, or a problem we helped sort? Those details make reviews feel real.

Share the impact: Did we help you feel more confident, save you time, fix something that had been causing stress, or help you meet a standard like Cyber Essentials or DSPT?

Keep it short and friendly: A few clear sentences is more than enough.

Don’ts

Avoid vague comments: Words like “good” or “nice” don’t help others understand why you were happy.

Don’t exaggerate: Honest, down-to-earth comments always sound better than over-the-top praise.

Skip the comparisons: You don’t need to mention other providers — just focus on your own experience.

No need to sound formal: Write it how you’d naturally say it. A relaxed tone feels more real.

Some examples

Working with Kevin and the team at Black Swan has been brilliant. We run a small school in Derbyshire and needed help meeting the DfE’s cyber security standards.
